Upgrading to Idealpos 9

In most cases, you should be able to upgrade any version of Idealpos 7.0 or 7.1 directly to the current version of Idealpos v9.
However, be sure to backup the database first before upgrading (or test locally first), and if a problem occurs, contact technical support.

Note!

Upgrading to Idealpos 9 is a free upgrade from Idealpos 8.

As long as you are licensed for Idealpos 8, you are eligible to upgrade to Idealpos 9.

If you are still running Idealpos v7/v7.1, upgrading to Idealpos v9 is NOT FREE, and your Licence will need to be purchased/updated!

Also Note!

There is no Idealpos v9 Framework.

Idealpos v9 utilises the Idealpos v8 Framework, so ensure that the Idealpos v8 Framework is installed prior to installing Idealpos v9.

Warning!

If you are not licensed for Idealpos 8 and you run the Idealpos 8 Framework and Idealpos 9 Build installs, Idealpos 9 will show an Expired Licence prompt, rendering your Idealpos system unusable!

Therefore, it is important to ensure that you are licensed for Idealpos 8 before installing Idealpos 9.

If in doubt, contact Idealpos to confirm your eligibility.

To commence the Idealpos 9 upgrade, run the Idealpos 8 Framework installation and once completed, run the Idealpos 9 build installation.

Further details regarding the installation of the Idealpos 8 Framework are outlined here.

Further details regarding the installation of the Idealpos 9 build are outlined here.
